Our client is a unique global leader that provides a specialist service to the Airline Industry. Due to the demand in the market they are currently seeking a Senior Engineer – Air Conditioning and Refrigeration to join their dynamic Engineering team in Dubai.
As a Senior Engineer you will be reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Engineering and will be responsible for ensuring the business operations is not compromised by failures in plant, equipment & processes. Additionally the role will lead the engineering teams to achieve improvements in plant availability and run performance and staff productivity through the application of effective people management and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that safe working practices and procedures are implemented in accordance with the Company’s Occupational Heath & Safety and Environmental policy. You will deliver a cost effective maintenance service and implement proposed changes to equipment design and embed these within the maintenance department. You will be accountable for ensuring the maintenance teams have clearly documented roles, responsibilities, expectations and accountabilities setting clear performance objectives that are specific, challenging and achievable while providing regular performance feedback to staff. You will design programs to ensure that plant usage is optimised, and implement continual improvements that meet Key Result and Performance Criteria expectations in accordance with the departmental expectations derived from business plans.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration maintenance. Candidates with maintenance experience working in an Airline Catering company or 5 star hotels will take preference. You will have a high standard of professional conduct including excellent verbal and written communication. You will be familiar with monitoring and control systems, such as Building Management System & Control Management System. You will have Occupational Health & Safety as a core principle by leading actions to proactively eliminate/control hazards and drive a behavioural approach to safety first within your team. You will be customer focussed and have excellent people management skills by leading and managing teams in an effective manner, recognising and employing positive cultural change within. You should be a strong believer that cost effective maintenance offers a competitive advantage that must be continually challenged and improved and have a commercial acumen to prepare and analyse business cases. You will be an energetic and highly motivated individual who is solutions focused and is technically strong in the relevant field. Fluency in English is essential.
